Custom Precision Bushings
Sleeve, flanged, drill jig, and liner bushings machined to ±0.005mm tolerance from steel, brass, bronze, stainless steel, and aluminum. Swiss-type turning enables Ø0.5mm minimum bore with Ra≤0.4µm bore finishes. IATF 16949 and AS9100D certified production.
All Major Bushing Types, Machined Custom
A precision bushing is a cylindrical component that lines a bore to control shaft alignment, reduce friction, transfer load, or guide a cutting tool. Unlike catalog parts, custom-machined bushings are built to your exact ID/OD dimensions, length, fit class, and surface finish — with no compromise on concentricity or bore geometry.
Richconn’s Swiss-type turning centers (CITIZEN A20, Tsugami B206, YM LM-06Y) and MAZAK turn-mill machines give us the equipment depth to hold tight bore tolerances across small-diameter precision bushings, large-OD flanged bushings, and everything in between — from prototype quantities to production volumes of hundreds of thousands of pieces.
Sleeve / Plain Bushings
Cylindrical liner pressed into a housing bore. Reduces friction between shaft and housing. Used in motors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
ID: Ø0.5–150mm · Fit: H7/f6 or custom
Flanged Bushings
Sleeve with an integral flange collar that provides axial positioning and prevents the bushing from pushing through the housing under load.
Flange OD: custom · Axial clearance: per dwg
Drill Jig / Liner Bushings
Hardened, ground bushings that guide drill bits or reamers in a fixture. Permanent press-fit or renewable slip types with tight ID/OD concentricity.
Concentricity: ≤0.003mm · HRC 58–62 available
Step / Reducing Bushings
Transitions between two shaft diameters or bore sizes in a single part. Common in tooling adapters, hydraulic fittings, and motor mounts.
Multi-step profiles · complex OD geometry
Thin-Wall Bushings
Wall thickness as low as 0.3mm for space-constrained assemblies in medical devices, robotics, and consumer electronics. Swiss-type machining ensures roundness under thin walls.
Wall thickness: ≥0.3mm · OD roundness: ≤0.002mm
Threaded Bushings
Internal or external threads for insert or captive-nut applications in assemblies requiring frequent disassembly. Threads per ISO/ASME/DIN standard or custom pitch.
Thread class 6H/6g standard · custom available

Common Bushing Materials We Machine
Material selection drives bushing performance. The right alloy must balance wear resistance, machinability, corrosion resistance, and cost for the operating environment. We stock or source all common grades.
Carbon Steel / Alloy Steel
Grades: 1045, 4140, 4340, 52100
Hardness: Up to HRC 62 (post heat treat)
Machinability: Excellent (free-cutting grades)
Best for: drill jig bushings, high-load sleeve bushings, press-fit applications. Can be case-hardened for wear surface.
Stainless Steel
Grades: SS303, SS304, SS316L, SS17-4PH
Corrosion: Excellent (304/316L)
Strength: 17-4PH up to 1310 MPa UTS
Best for: food processing, marine, medical, and chemical equipment where corrosion resistance is required alongside tight tolerances.
Brass (C360 / C272)
Machinability: Excellent (C360 = 100% rating)
Friction: Low self-lubricating properties
Electrical: Good conductivity
Best for: light-load bearing bushings, electrical connectors, pneumatic valve components, and applications requiring non-magnetic properties.
Phosphor Bronze / Copper Alloy
Grades: C510, C630 (Al-Bronze), SAE 841
Bearing rating: Excellent PV factor
Self-lube: Porous / oil-impregnated available
Best for: high-load rotating shaft bushings, hydraulic systems, marine bearings. Superior sliding properties vs. steel-on-steel.
Aluminum Alloy
Grades: 6061-T6, 7075-T6, 2024-T3
Weight: ~2.7 g/cm³ (vs 7.8 steel)
Anodizing: Hard anodize (Type III) available
Best for: aerospace brackets, robotics, lightweight automotive assemblies where low mass is critical. Hard anodize improves surface hardness to ~450 HV.

The Manufacturing Advantage
Six reasons engineers and procurement teams choose Richconn for precision bushing programs — from prototypes to high-volume contracts.
Swiss-Type Turning for Thin & Small Bores
Our CITIZEN A20 Swiss machines guide the workpiece at the cutting point — eliminating deflection. That's why we can reliably hold ±0.005mm bore tolerance on Ø0.5mm to Ø25mm parts that flex under cutting forces on conventional lathes.
54+ Machines. No Capacity Bottleneck.
15× CITIZEN A20, 20× Tsugami B206, 18× MAZAK turn-mill centers, 2× MAZAK HCN5000L horizontal machining centers, and more. We handle surge volumes without extending lead times or outsourcing to unqualified sub-suppliers.
Certified for Your Industry
IATF 16949:2016 for automotive. AS9100D for aerospace. ISO 10012 for measurement system calibration. ISO 14001 for environment. These certifications reflect documented processes, not just a wall certificate — we can provide audit records.
Complete In One Program
Turning, milling, threading, honing, heat treatment, plating coordination, and CMM inspection — all managed under one purchase order. No fragmented supply chains requiring you to coordinate separate vendors for secondary operations.
DFM Input Before You Cut Steel
Our engineers review your drawing before quoting. We flag features that add cost without improving function — tight tolerances in non-critical zones, exotic finishes where standard works, or geometries that can be simplified without sacrificing fit.
